Moorland heather!
I'm pleased to show the finished piece which is the second in the squiggles series.
I've started the next piece of work, I'm making a design of blocks of colour against a background. My base fabric is canvas, as opposed to hessian, so it's going to be composed of straight lines. I enjoy the freedom of working on hessian- being able to draw freely with fabric, as well as the straight line constraints of canvas.

The luckiest cat in the world!
Jess has a lovely pile of fabric to sleep on, next to the radiator, in my workroom. She even helps me with colour decisions.

Moons, moons, moons......
Moonraking Handmade Trail at Slaithwaite Methodist church was fab! There were lots of people coming and going all afternoon. You can see other Colne Valley artists in the background.
I really enjoyed making lots of different moons - crescent moons, blue moons, harvest moons.... hooky and proddy moons. That second harvest moon landed butter side down...

It was very exciting to see the piece framed and in situ in the entrance of the new Delivery Suite at Bradford Royal Infirmary!
New mums in Bradford are lucky to have these fab facilities.

And finally! Off to the Delivery Suite...
Yes, that's right!
Next week I am going to the official opening of the new midwife-led birth centre at the Bradford Royal Infirmary which opened its doors to women on November 26 as part of the Foundation Trust’s £3.6 million investment in maternity and neonatal facilities.
I was delighted to be invited to make a piece of work for the new unit and am looking forward to seeing it in situ and to meeting Anita Rani http://www.bbc.co.uk/theoneshow/backstage/profiles/anita_rani.shtml who will be cutting the ribbon.

Trains and Snow and Art
Today I am coming out of the wintery wilderness to share some news and events, new for 2013!
The creative flow is a curious thing, it ebbs and flows and sometimes recedes to a mere trickle........
It's worth making a special trip to Huddersfield train station to see the new exhibition from Art Station featuring the fantastic variety of talent in the Colne Valley.
I am really excited to see my large work exhibited in a large space...
