Work getting bigger!

This is my largest piece of work so far using  a blended colour technique!  40" x 17" , 120cm x 43cm
My intention is to make a piece twice this size. I love working with the intensity of the colour. I still have to complete the edging of the work, which will be in black. If you look carefully you will spot some of the debris which fell as I worked in the garden, snipping, joining and hooking.
The two tone concrete is unintentional.

Slow art!

This embroidery is based on a torn paper collage.

New stash of African fabric!

I'm very excited and just about to go into the studio and rummage through bags of Africa. I've been to see Magie Relph this morning. I love it that I can use the pieces she cuts off from the ends of rolls of fabric. Using her fabric makes me feel good!

Banners!

So here they are! These are are the banners created by Year 8 students at Moorend Academy, Almondbury High School and King James's School. Each one is made in the school colours.  The youngsters did really well. Chunky, gutsy pieces of work
Thank you to Yvonne Roberts for taking these top notch photos.

Sunny afternoon at Brackenhall!

Official opening of Northfield Hall, the fabulous new community building at Brackenhall.
What an enthusiastic bunch of people I met yesterday! Thanks! I came home feeling very upbeat.

Lots of people had a go at rag rug prodding, the table was covered in fabric of all colours. The willingness to have a go at something new is always a treat to see.

Banners and names!

This is an exciting departure! Have your name, a phrase or logo created in lovely textured fabric.
I've made several name banners which are great fun to do.
